The whistling sound begins to stop as the tank is approaching full and stops when the tank is completely full. This alerts the person filling the tank that it is full, thus helping to prevent fuel spills, therefore saving you the clean up and helping to preserve our marine environments. WHISALERT should always be installed in an upright position in the fuel tank vent line. WHISALERT does not prevent spills and is only effective with the interaction of the person fueling.
