Remanufactured Marine replacement engines by First Mate Marine. Each Block Features New: Marine Camshafts and Lifters, Pistons and Rings, Heavy Duty Timing Chain and Gears, Rod, Main and Cam Bearings, Brass Freeze-Out Plugs. All Blocks are Resurfaced, Bored and Honed. Crankshaft and Connecting Rods are reconditioned, and Heads are resurfaced and given a three angle valve job. First Mate includes a NEW oil pump and FEL-PRO gaskets to complete job. WARRANTY DETAILS AND DESCRIPTION: First-Mate Remanufactured Long Blocks MUST be installed by a certified marine mechanic, contracted by the boat owner. Factory 2-Year Limited Pleasure Boat Warranty. 1st year parts and labor, 2nd year parts only, with a labor cap of $500.00 for boats less than 21’ in length and $600.00 for boats 21’ and larger. Additionally a “crane” allowance of $150.00 for boats 21’ and larger.
Pre-approval is necessary prior to beginning warranty repairs.

NOTE: Contamination from the old (or failed) engine being replaced is the cause of MOST failures of a replacement longblock. You MUST replace oil cooler and oil cooler lines. We strongly suggest you also replace oil pump pick up screen and oil pan, as it is difficult to clean contaminates from these parts.

Valve Covers Bolt Around Perimeter of Cover. This is the early style 2 Piece Rear Main Seal Engine with Starboard side dipstick (1980-85).
This is a Right Hand Flywheel Rotation Motor (viewed looking directly at the flywheel) Opposite a Car Engine Rotation (which in marine is right hand rotation) These Engines were used in Inboard Applications Only.
