I have been a customer of Lighthouse Marine for 6 plus years now. I have continued to
purchase my major boating parts from Lighthouse due to many reasons: competitive price,
availability (in stock), selection, salesman product knowledge and customer service.
On Friday night, August 11th at 5:40 PM we started from Bass River, MA on our way to
Nantucket, MA for the weekend, on a planned trip, planned 6 months in advance. As soon as
we started to get the boat on plan (1979 Pacemaker with Crusader 454's), I knew something
was wrong with the starboard motor. We could only reach 2500 RPM. I went below and
discovered the Carburetor was malfunctioning. We did not want to turn around, however the
only other option was running at 8-10 knots for 25 miles, with a possibility of loosing
the Carburetor completely, was not something we all wanted to experience. I needed to act
now.
It was now 5:50 PM on Friday night. I tried calling all local NAPA and other stores from
my cell phone while at sea. No one was still open and those that were, no one had the part
in stock. All would take 3 plus days.
I then called Lighthouse Marine. Over the years, I have always had Greg help me with my
orders. Greg was not available, however Karl answered the phone. I asked him to look up my
account and find the Rochester Quadra Jet Carburetor that I had purchased for my port
motor last summer. He found the part and as always you had one in stock. I asked if he
could overnight this part for Saturday early AM delivery to my parents home, on Cape Cod,
who too were traveling on Sat AM to Nantucket where we would be. I gave Karl the zip code
and he told me he would call UPS and find out if UPS could deliver to this zip code by
10:00 AM and he would call me back. He then told me that if they could make this delivery,
he would have to get UPS back out to Lighthouse for another pick up, as they were already
at Lighthouse for there daily pick ups. It seemed we would be destined to cancel this trip
and turn around.
As promised, Karl called me back promptly and told me UPS will come back to Light House
and make the Saturday 10:00 AM delivery.
We decided then to push on to Nantucket knowing that Lighthouse will have the new part
delivered to Cape Cod and then it will be delivered, by boat, to me in Nantucket where I
could make the proper repairs and save this trip.
As promised UPS delivered the part to my parents home on Cape Cod at 10:00 sharp, Saturday
Morning. My parents delivered the part to me by boat on Nantucket, by 12:00 noon. By 3:00
PM the part was installed and we were back to 100% mechanical condition. We ran the boat
home on Sunday afternoon with all the repairs complete, thanks to Lighthouse Marine.
Karl went the extra mile and I am writing this to thank you for hiring a dedicated sales
staff who believe in customer service. I also want to thank Karl who made this all happen
and delivered what he said he would do, as promised.

Yes I picked up the head on Wednesday and installed it yesterday. The engine runs very
smooth now and everything seems to be ok.
I want to thank you for your excellent service and help to get the part sent to my
destination. I will strongly recommend using your company to all my friends with boat and
engine interests.
I can just tell you that the price on the same head here in Norway is approximately 3100
dollars!!! And for the exaust manifold/riser that I ordered from you earlier the price in
Norway was 3900 dollars. Thanks again, you have saved me allot of money :-)

I would like to commend Greg Scholand on his excellent
service and professionalism in a recent transaction that I
made with Lighthouse Marine Supply.
Several weeks ago I purchased a fuel tank from LMS and did
not receive it in the 7-10 days as promised. After
calling LMS and speaking with Greg Scholand, I found out that the tank was just sitting in
the wherehouse in the
Midwest somewhere. Greg took the initiative to contact the wherehouse and have the tank
shipped out right away
with a tracking number and a call back to me. I received a tank but it as the wrong tank
and again a call was
made to Greg to discuss the problem. He then took the steps to correct the problem and
have the right tank
shipped to me along with phone calls and emails to keep me posted on the progress.
Initially I was frustrated with LMS in this matter, but I was
very impressed with Greg~Rs customer service and his
concern to correct the problem. Because of his actions I will continue to do business with
Lighthouse Marine
Supply and will recommend my clients to your company.
