18-5953-1 Mercruiser 470/485 3.7L Alternator Kit.This Alternator Conversion Kit replaces the Stator and Voltage regulator Charging system found on Mercruiser 470/485 4 cyl. aluminum blocks. The NEW Conversion Kit utilizes the alternator found on most Mercruiser Stern Drives which charges only when current is needed, producing less heat and less chance of burnout. The NEW system is more energy efficient, resulting in more miles per gallon and higher top-end speed. Must have at least 4" of clearence in front of engine to properly install kit. KIT WILL INSTALL ON STERNDRIVE ENGINE SERIAL NUMBER 4625580 AND UP. (NOTE: Will NOT install on Inboard engine applications). ADDITIONAL NOTE: FOR STERNDRIVE ENGINE SERIAL NUMBER
