Kasco 243465 Replacement Sacrificial Anode
Kasco 243465 Replacement Sacrificial Anode.
Protects the unit against corrosion and electrolysis
The sacrificial anode sits on the motor shaft below the propeller and corrodes in place of the equipment around it. Kasco supplies one on every de-icer and treats it as a wear part: inspect it every two to three months and replace it once it is half gone or has turned white. A spent anode is the cheapest part on the unit and the one that protects the most expensive.
